What’s Changing?
Previously, registrants received a temporary 8-digit number while holding a certificate of registration authorizing supervised practice, followed by a permanent 4-digit number upon receiving a certificate authorizing autonomous practice. Going forward, only one certificate number will be issued to each registrant, regardless of whether they are authorized for supervised or autonomous practice.
Why the Change?
- This update is part of the College’s ongoing efforts to:
- Improve accuracy and consistency within the Quality Assurance program
- Streamline administrative processes
- Enhance data security and recordkeeping
What Does This Mean for You?
If you already hold a certificate of registration authorizing autonomous practice, your existing certificate number remains valid. No action is required.
This change will only affects new registrants either those who currently hold a certificate authorizing supervised practice and have a temporary 8-digit registration number, or those who are new applicants to the College.
