
The College Council met virtually on June 20, 2025. Information provided to members of Council for their review in anticipation of their deliberations and decision-making is posted on the homepage of College website a week in advance of meetings. CHANGES TO THE COLLEGE COUNCIL
Since the March meeting there have been several changes to the College Council. Dr. Wanda Towers (District 3, Central) and former Council President has completed her term of office. We gratefully acknowledge her contributions and many years of service. Dr. We are pleased to welcome new Council members, Dr. Marian Boer, and Dr. Kieva Hranchuk representing District 3 and District 9 respectively.
EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
As a first order of business, the Council elected the Executive Committee for the 2025-2026 year. We are pleased to congratulate:

POLICY ISSUES
Policies
Council approved revisions to the following policies:

Registration Modernization
- Approved proposed plan to update the Registration Guidelines for Interim Autonomous Practice applicants from the USA to facilitate their registration.
- Approved the American Psychological Association and the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System as accrediting bodies (in addition to the Canadian Psychological Association) who may approve doctoral degrees pursuant to s.5(1) of the Registration Regulation.
- Approved the redefinition of psychology’s “Client Groups” and “Authorized Practice Areas” in favour of two practice areas “Health Service” and “Industrial/Organizational (I/O)”.
- Approved a plan to identify jurisdictions equivalent to the College pursuant to ss 5(3)(1)(ii), 8(b), 16(5), 19(b) and 23(3)(1)(i) for expedited registration (psychology and ABA).
Governance Modernization
- Council approved strategies to modernize governance, including reducing Council size, adopting a hybrid appointment/election model, implementing a competency-based framework, and enhancing separation between Council and Committees. The Ministry of Health will be advised of any required legislative changes.
OTHER BUSINESS
The next meeting of Council will be held in-person on September 26, 2025.
Committee Appointments
The Executive Committee has appointed Council and professional members to Committees for the 2025 – 2026 term. Committees support the work of the Council and contribute towards advancing the College’s mandate to serve and protect the public interest.
The College has seven statutory Committees that are mandated to be established under the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991. In addition, the College has two non-statutory Committees: Finance and Audit, and Jurisprudence and Ethics Examination. The Executive Committee is elected from the members of the College Council. The remaining Committees are comprised of professional and public members of the Council and members of the College who are not members of the Council.
All titles, Psychologist, Psychological Associate and Behaviour Analysts are represented on each Committee.
