Approved Amended By-Laws Effective July 1, 2024

In preparation for proclamation of the Psychology and Applied Behaviour Analysis Act, 2021, the College has amended its By-laws to now include the profession of applied behaviour analysis and the regulation of Behaviour Analysts. On March 21, 2024, the Council has approved the amended By-laws during its meeting and will be effective on July 1, 2024. The mandate of the College is to serve and protect the public interest, and it delivers programs and services to fulfill that mandate. The College needs to ensure it has adequate By-laws in place to deliver the programs and services necessary to meet the public interest mandate.

By-laws are required to establish the governance infrastructure of the College, and include domains such as elections to Council, the selection of the Executive Committee, committee composition, and the procedures for making, amending, or revoking By-laws. Each By-law requires a review to ensure Behaviour Analyst representation and compliance with the new Act.

We wish to thank all of the respondents to the College surveys conducted leading up to the revisions and all members of College staff, committees and the Council for their hard work on this initiative.
