COVID-19 Information for Members – March 17, 2021

Vaccinations for Psychological Service Providers

The College has received several inquiries regarding the availability of COVID-19 vaccinations for members and the process for registering to be vaccinated.

The provincial government has provided information for health care workers: COVID-19: Guidance for Prioritizing Health Care Workers for COVID-19 Vaccination. Within the government’s sub-prioritization levels, psychology has been designated as “High Priority”. Using the governments guidelines, the local Public Health Units are responsible for organizing and scheduling vaccinations for individuals in their catchment areas.

To date, the College has been contacted by six Public Health Units from across the province and we have assisted them in notifying College members from their catchment areas about the vaccination registration process. The College has sent emails, with the information provided by each Public Health Unit, to members identified as living or working within their particular area. Copies of these emails and any attached information can be found on the College website in our COVID-19 Updates section under Vaccination Information from Public Health Units

The College recognizes the importance of vaccination information for our members and has made this cooperative work with the Public Health Units a priority. We strive to ensure that information received from a Public Health Unit is distributed to the appropriate members as quickly as possible.

If you wish to follow up with your local Public Health Unit or review their information about COVID-19 vaccines and roll-out plans, contact information is available here.
