UPDATED: April 2019
The communication of a psychological diagnosis is a controlled act restricted to qualified members of the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario.
The candidate’s preparation for formulating and communicating psychological diagnoses is evaluated throughout the registration process. At the point of initial application, all candidates’ formal coursework and formal training are reviewed. Should there be an apparent gap in this coursework, or in this training, as identified at initial review; the application will be referred to the Registration Committee, according to Section 12. (2) of the Registration Regulation. A Training Plan may be required. Please refer to Section J Guidelines for Training Plans for Supervised Practice Members.
The candidate’s skills in formulating and communicating psychological diagnoses are also evaluated throughout the course of supervised practice and at the Oral Examination.
