COVID-19 Information for Members – March 30, 2020

IMPORTANT FEE PAYMENT AND RENEWAL INFORMATION

Fee Deadline Extended to August 1, 2020

The College is well aware of the extreme financial impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on members and their families.  We know that some members have had to significantly decrease their level of service and in some cases are not able to continue to serve their clients at all.

We want to assure you that no member will have their Certificate of Registration suspended for non-payment of fees as a result of the impact of this extraordinary situation.  For this reason, the College is extending the deadline for fee payment by at least two months to August 1, 2020.

As noted in the original Membership Renewal Notice, the College is actively monitoring the COVID-19 situation and its impact on the regulated health profession and broader community and we will continue to do so over the next four months, leading up to August 1, 2020.  We have received many e-mails and telephone calls from members sensitively explaining the serious personal difficulties caused by the COVID-19 crisis.  In these messages, some members have requested fee deferrals, a fee payment plan and other possible suggestions and we thank them for these.

The College will continue to monitor the situation and, as August 1st approaches, consider if further action regarding fees may be necessary.

Renewal Deadline for Completion of Practice Update Form – June 1, 2020

While the College is moving the Fee Payment deadline to August 1, 2020, it is important for members to complete the other steps in the renewal process by the original deadline of June 1, 2020.  The College must ensure it has up to date member information.  By logging into the Member’s Login area, you can complete and submit the required renewal information. Please review, and if necessary correct, all areas for accuracy even those marked “Complete”.  Once all information has been entered, this can be sent to the College by clicking the “Submit” button.  The system will automatically take you to the Fees Payment section.  As noted, the Fee Payment Deadline has been extended to August 1, 2020 and therefore, if you do not wish to pay your fees at this time, you may exit the system by closing your browser. The required Practice Update Form submission is complete.

Changing your Certificate of Registration

If you are retiring, going on leave, or returning to autonomous practice beginning June 1, 2020, this will require a change to your Certificate of Registration.  For a description of the various Certificates please go to the Certificate Information Page.  Requests for changes should be made to renewals@cpbao.ca.

If you have any questions about your renewal or difficulties completing your Practice Update Form please contact renewals@cpbao.ca.

 Keep safe and healthy,
